BCDS AGM 19 December 2012
1.
Chairman’s
Report
·
There
are now 61 members with both Club and British Cycling membership. Lyndsay
Proffitt will now relinquish her role as Club Membership Secretary. However, BC
now have a facility to pay membership via their website which Club members are
encouraged to use.
·
The
2012 Junior Tour of the Mendips made a healthy profit. The 2013 event is
scheduled for 6 & 7 April for 80 riders with the same entry fee as this
year.
·
Club
Runs were successful in introducing new members to group cycling. These will
continue as will the training sessions at Aztec West (road); Newport (track);
Long Ashton (turbo) and, when available, the new road circuit in Bath. Coaches
are encouraged to charge £1 - £2 per person for each session to cover out of
pocket expenses. Road safety sessions may be available.
·
The
new café at Burrington Combe (Next door to Bad Ass Bikes) may be an appropriate
venue for the 2013 Raj Soni Memorial Hill Climb event.
2.
Treasurer’s
Report
·
The
balance of the Club’s accounts at 27 November 2012, the date of the latest
statement, is £ 2,486.02.
·
The
sponsorship from SKF Bearings and Design Windows, together with the fee for our
assistance with the Great Weston Ride has allowed us to repay loans previously
made to the Club.
·
Primarily,
the sponsorship received has been used to purchase clothing; Junior Tour of the
Mendips; pay affiliation fees; track sessions.
·
There
does not appear to be a need to increase new members’ fees unless our clothing
supplier has substantially increased their prices.
·
Darren
McKimm kindly invited the Club again to assist with the Great Western Sportif.
·
Artworks
will be able to supply car stickers, posters etc. as required.
3.

·
The
Club website will retain its existing format.
·
Dan
McKimm will continue to run the Club Twitter account.
·
Facebook

to find. An additional page will be created to highlight the Junior Tour of the
