Jeff has been the club chairman since BCDS was formed back in 2003.
He's been involved in cycling all of his life and was introduced to the sport through a teacher at his school who encouraged the pupils to try cycling as part of PE. This initial introduction lead Jeff and many others at the school to become more involved in the sport and join their local cycling club the Chippenham Wheelers, (similar to what ourselves and other Go-Ride clubs do across the UK today).
Jeff has competed in road and track racing in his younger years, and got back into cycling once his own children started to take an interest in the sport though his cycling is done for enjoyment rather than competing. It was this level of experience that made him the ideal man to become club chairman.
Within BCDS Jeff oversees the development of the club and is the point of contact for any new members. He organises, and leads the majority of the Sunday club runs as well as coaching the winter turbo sessions and mid-week summer coaching sessions at Aztec West.
Jeff has been the organiser of the Junior Tour of the Mendips Road race for the past 3 years.
