The Great Weston Ride is taking place on Sunday 15th July 2012.
The Ride sets off from the Long Ashton Park & Ride (see map below) where there is an abundance of free parking and safe drop-off areas, and riders will be able to depart between 8am and 9.30am (although registration will open from 7.30am for anyone who wants to arrive early).
Having signed in and collected your rider number, all you have to do then is make your way to the start and off you go! (Depending on final numbers, riders will set off in small groups approximately 1-2 minutes apart).
It is anticipated that the majority of riders will take advantage of the opportunity to make a day of it in Weston with family and friends after completing the Ride, and they will therefore be collected from the finish.
However, for riders who wish to leave their car in the Park & Ride at the start, transport will be available to bring riders and their bikes back to their vehicles (NB parking for the day is free, but transport back to the Park & Ride needs to be booked and paid for in advance, and all vehicles must exit the Park & Ride by 7pm latest).
En route there will be a couple of official refreshment stops where riders will be able to replenish water bottles and make use of toilet facilities, and where there will also be cakes, chocolate, rolls, hot drinks etc available to purchase, but of course there are also any number of other appealing stop-off points on this stunning route for those of a more leisurely disposition.
The Ride finishes on the seafront in Weston-super-Mare and it's hoped that riders will encourage family and friends to come along and cheer them across the line, before then making a family day of it by the sea.
Riders need to be in Weston by 5.30pm latest, after which time the event will begin to knock down.
The event is registered with British Cycling, cycling's governing body, and is being run in accordance with its technical regulations, and all signed-in riders are provided with third-party insurance cover as part of their entry fee.
All riders who participate in the Ride agree to abide by the Ride's terms and conditions of entry (see below for full details).
